This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Back-end JR | Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento based in Brazil.
As a Junior Back-end Developer in Research & Development, you will contribute to exploring emerging technologies and evaluating innovative solutions that support data-driven products and services. You will work alongside an experienced R&D team to test new tools, develop proof of concepts (PoCs), and investigate different approaches to data storage and processing. The role combines hands-on experimentation, technical research, and documentation rather than focusing exclusively on maintaining production systems. You will help transform research findings into functional prototypes and actionable technical insights. Accountabilities:
- Assist the R&D team in configuring development and testing environments, executing scripts, and collecting performance metrics for proof-of-concept projects involving new technologies and tools.
- Develop simplified, functional prototypes using available datasets to validate technical concepts and assess the feasibility of potential solutions.
- Support the exploration, testing, and evaluation of emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools relevant to the team's research priorities.
- Prepare clear and structured technical documentation, including installation guides, usage instructions, configuration procedures, and records of experimentation.
- Collect, analyze, and document performance metrics to compare technologies and approaches, helping the team make informed technical decisions.
- Contribute to the exploration and structuring of databases, including evaluating solutions for relational and NoSQL data storage.
- Apply programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming principles when building prototypes and testing technical solutions.
- Use version control tools such as Git and GitHub to manage code, track changes, and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Explore and test REST APIs to understand integrations, data exchange, and potential use cases for new technologies.
- Maintain a proactive learning approach by researching new technical concepts, sharing findings, and contributing ideas to ongoing R&D initiatives.
- Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and their application in software development.
- Understanding of relational database concepts, including how relational databases organize, store, and retrieve information.
- Basic theoretical knowledge of NoSQL databases and an interest in learning about alternative data storage technologies.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and how to consume endpoints to retrieve or exchange data.
- Ability to write, execute, test, and troubleshoot scripts as part of technical experiments and prototype development.
- Strong interest in research and development, emerging technologies, software engineering, and technical experimentation.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail, particularly when collecting performance metrics, comparing technical solutions, and documenting results.
- Clear written communication skills, with the ability to produce organized and understandable technical documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with teammates, ask questions, receive feedback, and contribute to a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment.
