As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will play a key technical role within the Regulatory Compliance team, working closely with the team and Compliance management on complex regulatory matters, with a strong focus on Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) and National Monetary Council (CMN) requirements applicable to financial institutions and payment institutions. You will independently assess regulatory requirements, translate them into practical business, process, and control requirements, advise stakeholders on regulatory matters, and monitor their implementation and effectiveness across the company, contributing to the team’s technical consistency and regulatory compliance framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze BCB, CMN, and other applicable regulations and assess their impact on the company’s products, processes, controls, and operations.
- Own regulatory compliance assessments end-to-end, from regulatory interpretation and impact assessment through implementation follow-up and effectiveness validation.
- Provide regulatory compliance advice for new products, projects, processes, and business initiatives.
- Conduct compliance reviews and adherence testing, assessing evidence, identifying regulatory gaps, and recommending remediation actions.
- Monitor the implementation of regulatory requirements and follow up on action plans with responsible business areas.
- Support regulatory monitoring activities, including the assessment, classification, and communication of new or amended requirements to impacted stakeholders.
- Review and contribute to Compliance policies, procedures, controls, and regulatory governance frameworks.
- Support regulatory inspections, requests, audits, findings, and remediation plans, including interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Technology, and other areas to translate regulatory requirements into actionable business and control solutions.
- Contribute to Compliance reporting, regulatory risk visibility, and the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the Compliance Program.
- Provide technical guidance to other Compliance team members when required, contributing to knowledge sharing and consistency of regulatory assessments.
- Manage multiple regulatory matters simultaneously, prioritizing activities based on regulatory risk, materiality, deadlines, and potential exposure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Solid experience in Regulatory Compliance within financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs, or other companies operating in regulated financial environments.
- Hands-on experience in institutions directly regulated or supervised by the Central Bank of Brazil is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BCB and CMN regulatory frameworks applicable to financial institutions and/or payment institutions.
- Proven ability to interpret regulations and translate regulatory requirements into practical business, process, and control requirements.
- Experience with regulatory assessments, compliance reviews, adherence testing, action-plan follow-up, and/or regulatory remediation.
- Experience assessing regulatory requirements related to payment accounts, Pix, cards, credit, investments, and/or other financial products is a plus.
- Ability to independently handle complex regulatory matters from assessment through implementation follow-up and effectiveness validation.
- Ability to manage multiple regulatory matters, prioritize based on regulatory risk and materiality, and operate effectively in a fast-changing regulatory and business environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical, written communication, and advisory skills.
